The article justifies the role of education in the preservation and strengthening of human health; the value of «health» as a value of physical culture is considered; the distinction is made between health as a value and the value of health; It is argued that the creation of conditions for the appropriation of the value of «health» by students so that it determines their meaning of life as a value is promoted by a person-oriented approach; substantiate the main points of the person-oriented approach in the context of the problem of involving university students in the value of «health»: orientation to values as more significant than orientation toward ultimate goals, consideration as criteria for evaluating the education of a humanistic ally oriented structure of value orientations that determine the spiritual world of a person; reveals the essence of the person-oriented approach to involving students in the value of «health»; the possibilities of using the personality-oriented approach in the classes of the educational discipline «Physical Culture» for involving students in the value of «health» are shownPublished
